What is MATLAB? – An Introduction
MATLAB:
- Stands for matrix laboratory
- Is a high-performance language for technical computing
- Is a development environment for managing code, files, and data
- Consists of Mathematical functions for linear algebra, statistics, Fourier analysis, filtering, optimization, numerical analysis, etc
- Consists of 2-D and 3-D graphics functions for visualizing data
- Has tools for building custom graphical user interfaces
- Integrates computation, visualization, and programming in an easy-to-use environment
- Consists of functions for integrating MATLAB based algorithms with external applications and languages, such as Python, C, C++, Fortran, Java, COM, and Microsoft Excel
