MATLAB:

• Stands for matrix laboratory
• Is a high-performance language for technical computing
• Is a development environment for managing code, files, and data
• Consists of Mathematical functions for linear algebra, statistics, Fourier analysis, filtering, optimization, numerical analysis, etc
• Consists of 2-D and 3-D graphics functions for visualizing data
• Has tools for building custom graphical user interfaces
• Integrates computation, visualization, and programming in an easy-to-use environment
• Consists of functions for integrating MATLAB based algorithms with external applications and languages, such as Python, C, C++, Fortran, Java, COM, and Microsoft Excel
