TIFR – Fundamental Science Research – PhD Admissions 2019

Here is an opportunity to do doctoral research in one of India’s Premier Research Institutes, with a monthly scholarship of Rs. 25000 to Rs. 28000. Tata Institute of Fundamental Research (TIFR) specializes in fundamental research in the fields of Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Biology, Computer Science and Science Education. With its head quarters located in Mumbai, TIFR has its branches in Pune, Bangalore and Hyderabad.
If you hold a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree (B.A. / B.Sc. / B.S. / B.E. / B.Tech. / B.Sc. / M.A. / M.Sc. / M.E. / M.Tech.) in Mathematics or Physics or Chemistry or Biology or Engineering, you are eligible for applying for Integrated PhD or PhD in TIFR. Refer to TIFR’s website, for further details on eligibility criteria, mode of selection, etc. Candidates should apply for admissions to the research programmes online at TIFR’s website, on or before Nov-15-2018.
PhD students will get a monthly Fellowship of Rs. 25,000 initially. Later, it will be raised to Rs. 28,000 per month. Whereas, Integrated PhD students will get a monthly Fellowship of Rs. 25,000 initially. Later it will be increased to Rs. 28,000 per month, upon satisfactory performance of the student.
